Pricing

There are no list prices on this site, and that’s deliberate. What a piece of search work costs depends on the state of your site, how much of it there is, how competitive your market is and what you actually need. None of that is knowable before looking, so every price starts with a free analysis.

Why no packages

Packages price the average site. Yours isn’t average. A 20-page service business and a 10,000-product store need very different amounts of crawling, mapping and checking, and a package either overcharges one of them or under-delivers for the other.

Quoting after an analysis means the price matches the work, and the work matches the problem.

How it works

  1. A free analysis. I look at your site, your Search Console if you’ll share it, and who you’re really competing with.
  2. What I’d do first. You get the handful of changes that would make the most difference, in order, with the reasoning.
  3. A clear quote. What’s included, what you’ll receive, and what it costs, agreed before anything starts.
  4. No obligation. If the honest answer is that you don’t need me yet, I’ll say so.

Ways to work together

Engagement Best for How it’s priced
One-off project Audits, strategies, migrations, site builds, tools A fixed price agreed before work starts
Monthly support Ongoing SEO, AI search, content, Google Ads management and reporting A fixed monthly fee for an agreed scope
Advice sessions A second opinion, training your team, or reviewing work done elsewhere Agreed up front for the time involved

Google Ads management fees don’t include your advertising spend, which is paid directly to Google.

What affects the price

  • Size of the site. More pages and products mean more to crawl, map and check.
  • How competitive your market is. Harder searches usually need more content and more ongoing work.
  • What already exists. Good foundations need less fixing than years of accumulated technical problems.
  • Who does the implementation. Some clients have a developer to carry out changes. Others want me to make them.
  • How many markets. Separate UK, European and US sites, or several languages, add research and writing for each.

What’s included in every engagement

  • Work done by me, not passed to a junior or outsourced
  • A clear scope agreed before work begins
  • Plain-English explanations of what I find and why it matters
  • Evidence from your own data rather than generic advice
  • Every change checked once it’s live

The commercial terms

Monthly work has a minimum term of three months, then continues month to month with one month’s notice. Project work is invoiced 50% on acceptance and 50% on delivery, and invoices are payable within 14 days. I’m not VAT registered, so no VAT is added. The full terms are in the terms of business.
