Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site keeps them to a minimum, and nothing beyond what’s strictly necessary loads until you say yes. Saying no is just as easy as saying yes, and it won’t change how the site works for you.

What is set before you choose
Nothing. Google Analytics runs on this site, but it loads with Google Consent Mode set to deny storage, which means it stores nothing on your device until you accept. Until you choose, it sends Google a cookieless ping: no identifier, nothing written to your browser, nothing that recognises you on a later visit.
A small notice in the corner asks on your first visit. Accept and Reject sit side by side, the same size, because refusing should be as easy as agreeing. Whichever you pick is remembered in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, and you can change it any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
If you reject, analytics cookies are never set, and anything Google dropped during that first page load is deleted straight away.

No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking and no profiling. Google’s advertising features are switched off for this property, and the tag runs with ads data redaction on.
WordPress, which runs the site, sets cookies only for people who log in to it or leave a comment. Comments are closed, and logging in is only me.
What the analytics is for
Knowing which pages people read, which tools get used and where visitors arrive from. It shapes what I write next. It is not used to build a profile of you, it is not shared with anyone for their own marketing, and IP addresses are anonymised by the tag.
Google Analytics data for this site is kept for 14 months, which is the shortest retention Google offers for the reports I need.
Third-party services
Some features load services from other companies, which may set their own cookies when you use them:
- Calendar booking: the Google booking calendar on the contact page may set its own cookies when you open it to book a call. It loads only on that page
- WhatsApp: messaging opens WhatsApp, which is covered by Meta’s own privacy and cookie policies
- Embedded videos, if any are added, are set to load only after you interact with them where possible
How to control cookies
Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your mind at any time, in either direction. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and clearing your site data brings the choice back. Blocking analytics cookies changes nothing about how the site works for you.
