I’m based near Liverpool and most of my clients are nowhere near me. That’s worth saying plainly, because plenty of agency location pages imply a proximity that makes no difference to the work.
Where being local actually matters
For the great majority of search work, it doesn’t. Crawls, Search Console, content, schema and reporting are the same job wherever anyone is sitting, and a video call gets more done than an hour of someone’s day spent travelling.
There’s one exception that genuinely matters: when your customers are searching with intent to visit. The map pack, “near me” searches and proximity all behave differently from national search, and that’s a different job with different levers. That’s what the Liverpool page covers.
Areas with their own page
| Area | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Liverpool | Local search across the city and Merseyside: the map pack, Google Business Profile, area pages and whether your sector is competitive here |
More areas will be added where there’s something specific to say about them. A page per town with the name swapped is not that, and search engines are good at spotting it.
Working further afield
I work with clients across the UK, Europe and the USA, which mostly changes the hours rather than the method. Multi-market work brings its own problems, chiefly two stores competing with each other in search, which is covered on the international SEO page.
What you can expect wherever you are
The same person does the work, the reporting says what changed rather than restating numbers you can already see, and nothing goes out that I haven’t looked at.
